Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have officially unveiled their new jersey ahead of the IPL 2026 season, marking the beginning of what the franchise hopes will be a strong comeback year.
The five-time champions revealed the kit through a promotional video on social media, inviting fans to embrace another summer filled with their iconic “Yellove” spirit.
The updated jersey retains CSK’s traditional bright yellow base while introducing subtle design refinements that reflect a fresh start. While the franchise has maintained its core identity, the visual tweaks symbolise renewal after a challenging IPL 2025 campaign.
CSK Look to Rebuild After Difficult 2025 Season
CSK endured one of their toughest seasons in 2025, finishing at the bottom of the points table with just four wins in 14 matches. A lack of consistency in both batting and bowling combinations hurt their playoff chances early in the tournament.
Determined to bounce back, the management made bold squad decisions ahead of IPL 2026. In high-profile moves, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran were traded, while wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson joined the franchise to add firepower and leadership depth to the top order.
MS Dhoni Set for Another Season
All eyes will once again be on legendary captain MS Dhoni, who is set to return for IPL 2026 at the age of 44. Despite a relatively quiet 2025 season with 196 runs in 13 innings, Dhoni’s leadership remains invaluable.
He also resumed captaincy duties during Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury absence, reinforcing his role as the backbone of the franchise.
Investment in Young Talent
One of the positives from last season was the emergence of promising young players like Dewald Brevis, Ayush Mhatre, and Urvil Patel, who showed glimpses of CSK’s future core.
Continuing their youth-focused strategy, CSK made headlines at the auction by signing uncapped talents Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma for ₹14.20 crore each, with both emerging as the most expensive uncapped Indian signings in IPL history.
With a refreshed jersey, revamped squad, and renewed ambition, CSK will aim to reclaim their dominance and push for a record-extending sixth IPL title in 2026.
