Pant Trains With Yuvraj Singh Ahead of IPL 2026

Preparations for the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League have already begun, and Rishabh Pant appears determined to rediscover his best form ahead of the tournament.

The Lucknow Super Giants captain was recently spotted training with former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh in Mumbai, a move that has quickly generated buzz among cricket fans.

The training sessions took place at the Cricket Club of India, where Pant worked on several aspects of his batting technique. A short clip from the session soon went viral on social media, showing the wicketkeeper-batter facing deliveries in the nets while Yuvraj closely observed his movements and offered guidance.

Pant’s decision to train under Yuvraj Singh comes at a crucial stage of his career. The left-hander endured a difficult campaign in the previous IPL season, where he struggled to produce consistent performances with the bat.

Despite being regarded as one of the most explosive batters in T20 cricket, Pant managed 269 runs during the tournament. A late-century slightly improved his numbers, but overall, it remained one of his most challenging seasons in the league.

The struggles of the LSG captain also reflected in Lucknow Super Giants’ performance, who finished seventh in the standings and missed the playoffs.

Although the team possessed a powerful batting lineup capable of winning matches, inconsistency and a lack of bowling depth prevented them from maintaining momentum throughout the season.

With IPL 2026 scheduled to begin on March 28, Pant has a limited window to regain rhythm before the new campaign begins. His training sessions with Yuvraj Singh are widely seen as an effort to refine his technique and rebuild confidence ahead of the tournament.

Yuvraj’s mentorship carries significant value in Indian cricket. Since retiring from international cricket in 2019, the former all-rounder has worked closely with several young players, helping them improve their game. Cricketers such as Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma have previously trained with him and benefitted from his guidance.

During the recent sessions, Pant was also seen experimenting with minor technical adjustments, including a slightly open batting stance against certain bowlers. The change is expected to give him greater freedom to attack from the offside and improve his shot selection under pressure.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming IPL season, Pant will be eager to silence critics and lead Lucknow Super Giants with renewed confidence. With Yuvraj Singh’s experience and mentorship guiding his preparation, the LSG skipper will hope to rediscover the aggressive form that once made him one of the most dangerous batters in T20 cricket.
