Chennai Super Kings pulled off one of their most thrilling wins of IPL 2026<\/a> after defeating Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets in a high-scoring clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chasing a massive target of 204 runs, CSK completed the chase with four balls remaining as young wicketkeeper-batter Urvil Patel delivered a sensational knock that instantly became one of the biggest talking points of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 27-year-old Gujarat batter stunned fans with an explosive innings of 65 runs from just 23 balls. Urvil reached his half-century in only 13 deliveries, equalling the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remarkable feat placed him alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had achieved the same milestone in IPL 2023. Urvil’s knock, the joint fastest fifty in IPL<\/a> history and completely shifted the momentum towards Chennai during the run chase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urvil\u2019s innings was filled with aggressive stroke play as he smashed eight huge sixes and maintained a strike rate above 280. During his breathtaking knock, he also broke a long-standing CSK record previously held by Suresh Raina for the fastest IPL fifty by a Chennai batter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The youngster also surpassed a major IPL power-hitting record once owned by AB de Villiers by scoring 42 runs in his first 10 balls, the highest ever in IPL history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before becoming CSK\u2019s newest hero, Urvil had already built a reputation in domestic cricket with his fearless batting style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He smashed the fastest T20 century by an Indian during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and also owns one of the fastest List-A hundreds by an Indian batter. Despite those performances, he surprisingly went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His fortunes changed when the Chennai Super Kings signed him as a replacement player during IPL 2026.
