Earlier this month, he scored his first ODI century in just his fourth 50-over match. In the series decider against South Africa in Visakhapatnam, he scored an unbeaten 116 runs, hitting 12 fours and two sixes. His innings helped India successfully chase 271 runs and win the series 2-1.

The left-handed batsman also achieved a special milestone by becoming only the sixth Indian to score centuries in all three formats of international cricket.

Strong Hold in Test Cricket

Jaiswal has been playing Test cricket regularly since his debut in 2023 against the West Indies. He has scored 2511 runs in 28 Tests, with an average of 49.24, showing that he is very good in the longer format.

Even though he has done well in Test cricket, he has not played many white-ball matches, especially T20Is. He has played 23 T20Is and scored 723 runs at an average of 36.15 with a strike rate of 164.32. He has one century and five half-centuries. However, he has not played for India in T20Is since July 2024.

Jaiswal’s path in the T20 format has been competitive. With players like Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill performing consistently at the top, Jaiswal has often found it challenging to secure a regular spot. Still, his impressive strike rate and batting prowess make him a strong contender for future selections.

Dream of T20 World Cup & Leadership Ambitions

Jaiswal told Agenda AajTak that he dreams of playing for India in the T20 World Cup. This gives them a good chance to defend their title.

If Jaiswal gets a chance to play, he could be an exciting addition to India’s bid for a third T20 World Cup win.

[60,61
489
post-117","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-my-dream-is-to-play-t20-world-cup","tag-t20-world-cup-2026
["GET
